47 Pearl St East · Five until nine

Every class, and who it is for.

Kids start at five years old. Adults train in the evening after work. The first two classes are free, so the honest way to pick a class is to come and stand in one.

The week

Five nights, five until nine.

Every class the school runs, laid out on the evening it actually happens. Taller block, longer class.

Karate

The style the school was built on

Isshinryu's main goal is to perfect oneself through physical and mental development. As students learn they acquire self-confidence, serenity, and humility. It favours close-in technique that works at real distance over high, flashy kicks.

Mixed Martial Arts

Not on the regular timetable.

Students who want to compete train with the Ape Jiu Jitsu team and travel to tournaments. Nobody has to. Most students never enter one.
